The WSD Series Square Steel Poles are built from high strength steel square tube and are available side drilled for arm mounted area lighting luminaires or with tenon mounts for flood and post top luminaires. Typical area lighting applications include retail centers, industrial parks, schools and universities, public transit and airports, office buildings and medical facilities. Mounting heights of 10 to 30 feet can be used based on selected luminaire application

Specifications

Material Conforms to ASTM-A 500 Grade B: Minimum Yield Strength of 46,000 PSI.
Finish Textured architectural bronze powdercoat finish, baked to ensure maximum paint adhesion, hardness and durability.
Anchor Bolts Anchor bolts are not included.  Sized based on pole data charts for the selected pole size.
Hand Hole Cast iron reinforced hand hole and cover with ground screw.
Base Cover Poles are provided with a two-piece formed steel base cover that is easily assembled and fitted over pole bases.
Pole Length Poles are available in standard lengths as shown in the order matrix.  Poles can be custom cut to order.
Surface Treatment Hot-dip galvanizing
Side Mount Option Standard length poles are predrilled with holes on 4 sides, with a tenon standard packaged on top.  Also with hole plugs for unused predrilled locations.

Note:  When using ARM or slip-fitter mounts, additional installation parts may be required to ensure proper installation (example:  slip-fitter and bullhorn will be the option).  See installation parts for more options.

Top Mount Option Installing ARM (optional) will need to take off the tenon standard package and put rain cover on top.

Poles are typically set into the ground: 10% of the overall height + 2 feet, except in questionable soil conditions. Example: Overall pole height: 30 feet, the pole should be buried: 3 feet + 2 feet = 5 feet below grade, and 25 feet above grade.

The average lifespan of a street lighting pole is around 50 years or more if proper maintenance is performed regularly. The lighting poles are created to be durable and can operate in any condition.

The minimum clearance from a street light pole to the face of curb should be 2 feet.

How deep should a footing be for a light pole?

The standard for mounting a pole is 2′ plus 1′ for every increment of 10′ of pole. That would mean your minimum depth would be 5′ deep.
